Heat dissipation is a problem in electronics because the heat generated can build up in the device and cause components to overheat, which can lead to component failure, complete system shutdown and in extreme cases fires and explosions. In electronic devices, heat is generated primarily by the flow of electric current through the device’s components, including resistors, transistors, and integrated circuits.
